This is a classic K-Bar knife design made of the Japanese Hitachi #2 white steel, Takefu Suminagashi. It consists of 11 layers of softer mild and medium carbon steels surrounding a core of Hitachi #2 white paper ultra high carbon steel. White paper carbon steel is the highest-grade Japanese sword steel and is used for their very best cutlery.
